Surging Waves Symposium and Book Talk

C.A.C.A. Boston is working with the Phillips Brooks House Association to sponsor the 1st Annual Surging Waves Symposium and Book Talk by Martin Gold on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The symposium brings together descendants of the various waves of Chinese immigrants to the United States, community leaders, academic scholars and elected officials to discussion issues of importance and how Chinese Americans from Tai Shan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China can work together to achieve the American Dream.
Our Panelists included Cambridge City Councilor Leland Cheng, Former Fitchburg Mayor Lisa Wong, Miss Chinatown USA 2014 Karen Li, a sophomore at Harvard University, Diana Huang, MIT Professor Tunney Lee, Attorney Linda Y. Chin, Beatrice Lee, Amanda Le, and Maggie Jiang.
Our moderator is Greer Tan Swiston, Former Alderman City of Newton and MIT graduate.
We are extremely honored to have Attorney Martin B. Gold as our keynote speaker and presents the Book Talk. He was very instrumental in securing adoption of congressional resolutions expressing regret for the Chinese exclusion laws.
